Two fully-funded PhD positions available for Fall 2026|Energy systems modeling|Innovative construction materials

I have two fully-funded PhD positions available for Fall 2026 — both hitting a bit late in the normal recruiting cycle, so I'm putting the word out directly.

Position 1 — Innovative construction materials
Can we make buildings part of the climate solution rather than the problem? This project tackles that question with out group leading modeling of innovative building materials, as part of a great interdisciplinary team including architects, lawyers, and planners.

Position 2 — Energy systems modeling
How do we electrify the biggest, hardest industrial energy loads? This position will work on that in collaboration with Oak Ridge National Lab. Strong computational and modeling skills are a plus.
