I am recruiting for a post-doctoral research position at The University of Texas at Austin focused on robotics for industrialized construction and field deployment applications. Extension beyond the initial term may be possible based on funding availability and performance.
The position will focus on the development and deployment of robotic systems for:
-Industrialized and offsite construction workflows
-Remote inspection and sensing
-Material handling and robotic assistance for deconstruction
-Systems integration between robotics, sensing, and digital workflows
The successful candidate will contribute to both experimental robotics research and practical deployment-oriented systems development, working across hardware, software, and field-oriented applications.
🔎 Desired expertise includes:
-Robotic systems integration and experimental setup
-Cobots / robotic arms and UGV platforms
-ROS / ROS2, Isaac Sim, RoboDK
-Vision systems and sensor integration
-Programming experience (Python, C++, ML/CV frameworks)
-AI-enabled robotics and autonomy workflows
We are looking for someone who:
-Has a strong publication record in peer-reviewed venues
-Can independently lead and execute research projects
-Is comfortable supervising and mentoring graduate students
-Is a strong communicator capable of engaging with industry collaborators
-Enjoys building and testing real systems, not just simulations
