PhD Research in stochastic modeling, statistical learning | University of Nevada, Reno

I am currently seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join my research group at the University of Nevada, Reno.

The candidate must have a strong background in probability and statistics, with demonstrated knowledge in uncertainty quantification applied to earthquake engineering problems.
Experience or strong preparation in one or more of the following areas is desirable:
- Probabilistic modeling and statistical inference
- Ground-motion modeling and intensity measures
- Nonlinear structural dynamics
- Risk-based performance assessment
- High-performance computing
- Machine learning
- Computational methods (e.g., MATLAB, Python, OpenSees)

Students with an interest in combining theory (stochastic modeling, statistical learning) and engineering application (structural response under extreme earthquakes) are encouraged to apply.
