Are you passionate about improving health outcomes for older adults through nutrition? Do you want to explore real-world solutions that could shape dietary practice in Australia?
We are currently seeking an exceptional PhD candidate to join a new multidisciplinary research project investigating how whole foods, specifically eggs, can support healthy ageing and prevent malnutrition in older Australians.
You’ll be part of a dynamic, cross-Faculty team based in the Faculty of Science and collaborating with the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at University of Melbourne. The project is funded by Australian Eggs and will involve evidence synthesis, real-world intervention, and development of practical implementation tools.
What we’re looking for:
• Undergraduate degree with Honours and/or Master’s degree in human nutrition, dietetics, public health nutrition, or a related field, with a research component (e.g. thesis/dissertation) and strong academic track record;
• Demonstrated experience in research writing, a publication record is desirable (particularly for scholarship competitiveness);
• Proficiency in oral and written English, applicants may need to meet University of Melbourne language requirements;
• Interest in ageing, food-based interventions, and applied health research;
• Experience working with older adults is desirable, but not essential.
