Currently recruiting PhD/MSc students for Fall 2026 or Winter 2027 in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton, NB, Canada.
The selected candidates will receive full financial support and work on cutting-edge research in the following areas:
𝟱𝗚/𝟲𝗚 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀
• Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), wireless power transfer, millimeter-wave communications, RFID, MIMO, and OTFS
• Channel estimation, signal detection, multiple access techniques, and wireless resource management
𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀
• Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and foundation models for communication systems
• Distributed learning, optimization, and autonomous operation for wireless networks
🎈Dr. Jie Chen was named to the World’s Top 2% Scientists list and has published 29 papers in leading IEEE venues, including 11 first-authored journal papers, with over 3,600 citations. He has received multiple recognitions, including 3 ESI Highly Cited Papers (Top 1%), 1 ESI Hot Paper (Top 0.1%), a Best Paper Award, and the 2024 IEEE London Section Communications Chapter Outstanding Engineer Award.
