The RAISE Lab (Responsible AI Systems and Societal Experiences) - DePaul University School of Computing at DePaul University Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media (School of Computing) is now recruiting 2 fully funded PhD students to begin in Fall 2026.

🔹 Focus: Human-Centered Technology Design & AI
🔹 Funding: 5 years guaranteed
🔹 Location: DePaul University Loop Campus, in the heart of Chicago
Our research advances human-centered AI, responsible data practices, and socio-technical accountability, with particular attention to communities underserved by technology.

We welcome applicants from diverse technical and interdisciplinary HCI backgrounds, including AI/ML, NLP, computer vision, HRI, human-centered data science, psychology, cognitive science, and related fields. There is no “ideal” candidate—curiosity, rigor, and motivation matter most.
