Ph.D. students in Data Science

The research will focus on three key areas:
Developing cloud-computing solutions for an open-source engineering-design tool. (40%)
Cultivating an ecosystem for the tool to serve the engineering-design community in long term. (30%)
Advancing cyber-physical systems for robotic-based manufacturing. (30%)

Successful candidates will receive a full Graduate Assistantship, including a tuition waiver and a competitive monthly stipend.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a closely related field.
Strong programming skills and a solid foundational knowledge in Operations Research.
A demonstrated passion for research, with the goal of publishing in high-quality journals.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
A strong BS GPA (preferably >3.3), and meeting all university requirements for TOEFL/IELTS and GRE scores.
A clear interest in pursuing an academic or research-focused career after graduation.

The preferred start date is January 2026, with an August 2026 start also possible.
