I am looking for motivated students interested in pursuing Ph.D. research in operations research and optimization with applications in healthcare in the Industrial & Systems Engineering Department at the University of Florida.
Required Qualifications:
1. B.S/B.A. and M.S./M.A. degrees in operations research, mathematics, industrial engineering, or related fields, with a GPA of 3.75 or higher. (No exception)
2. Strong motivation and commitment to research; attention to detail; strong work ethic; excellent communication and teamwork skills.
3. Solid knowledge of or strong interest in courses such as operations research, optimization, mathematical analysis, real analysis, stochastic modeling, and statistical learning, with grades of A.
4. Knowledge of or interest in machine learning methods (e.g., tree-based methods, neural networks, reinforcement learning), with grades of A.
5. Proficiency in Python or MATLAB.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Research experience and/or journal publications.
2. A completed Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields.
3. Experience in operations research and optimization.
4. Residency in the United States (preferred).
