Dr. Hyun (Jeong) Koo is currently recruiting Ph.D. students to join his research group at Wayne State University (WSU) in Detroit, Michigan.
Position Description:
Ph.D. positions in Civil and Environmental Engineering focused on Construction Engineering and Management. The ideal candidate should have a master's degree in civil engineering or related fields.
Research Areas:
The selected candidate will work with Dr. Koo on interdisciplinary research in sustainable construction and emerging technologies, including:
• Construction and demolition waste management
• Adaptive reuse of buildings, material reuse and recovery
• Building Information Modeling (BIM)
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning
Candidates with relevant research experience in these or related areas are preferred. Experience with BIM, AI and machine learning, qualitative and quantitative research methods, statistical analysis, and software such as Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Navisworks is desirable.
We are looking for highly motivated, passionate about research, and capable of conducting interdisciplinary research. Strong oral and written communication skills in English are expected.
