Ph.D. Graduate Research Assistant Opportunity – Sustainable Mining and Critical Minerals Department of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering University

We are seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. student to join our Sustainable Mining Research Group at the University of Nevada, Reno. The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research in critical minerals, sustainable extraction and recycling technologies, life cycle assessment (LCA), techno-economic analysis (TEA), separation science, and the circular economy. The position provides an excellent opportunity to work on federally funded research projects in collaboration with leading universities, national laboratories, and industry partners. Research Areas The Ph.D. student will contribute to one or more of the following research areas:

• Sustainable extraction and recovery of critical minerals

• Separation science and hydrometallurgical process development

• Recycling and circular economy approaches for critical materials

• Life cycle assessment (LCA) and techno-economic analysis (TEA) of mining and processing technologies • Process optimization and sustainability assessment for mineral processing systems
