We are seeking qualified candidates to apply for a PhD position in Dr. Sonil Nanda’s research team at Dalhousie University (Department of Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture) for admission to the Fall 2026 term (September 2026). Ideal candidates should have a Master’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering and/or Sciences, a solid understanding, and prior research experience in hashtag#biorefinery and hashtag#biofuel technologies, especially "hashtag#PELLETIZATION, hashtag#TORREFACTION, hashtag#GASIFICATION, hashtag#PYROLYSIS, hashtag#LIQUEFACTION, OR hashtag#CARBONIZATION". The student will gain hands-on experience with advanced analytical instruments and have opportunities to engage with industry and the community. These research areas are crucial for finding alternative energy sources, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, promoting recycling of waste residues for value-added hashtag#biofuels, hashtag#biochemicals, and hashtag#biomaterials, and helping meet Canada's Net-Zero Targets and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
