Fully Funded PhD in Structural Performance and Fluid-Structure Interaction (Hydropower) - Spring 2027 - University of Houston - GRA Position

Dimitrios Kalliontzis is recruiting a fully funded PhD student to join the Structural Performance and Fluid-Structure Interaction (SP-I) Laboratory at the University of Houston, starting Spring 2027. The position is a Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA).

Research Focus:
Hydropower for the Gulf Coast, and the student will work across experimental and numerical investigations, including design of power take off systems, fluid-structure interactions, and computational multiphysics modeling.

Who Should Apply:
Strong background in civil, mechanical, or marine engineering, comfort with programming and numerical methods, and an interest in hands-on laboratory work. Prior experience with CFD, finite element analysis, or turbomachinery is a plus.
