Dr. Jean-Pierre Enriquez, Assistant Professor and State Nutrition Specialist, invites applications for a Graduate Research Assistant (PhD) position in Human Nutrition. The position offers opportunities to develop professional skills and contribute to applied research in community nutrition and nutrition education in Louisiana.
Dr. Enriquez's research focuses on community nutrition education interventions to prevent, manage, and reduce chronic diseases in Louisiana, integrating evidence-based strategies, culturally relevant food practices, and Extension programming. The successful candidate will contribute to intervention design, implementation, evaluation, data analysis, and research dissemination.
Start Date: Spring 2027

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition, Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, Food Science, or a related field; Master's degree specifically in Human Nutrition or Nutritional Sciences
• Strong programming and statistical analysis skills (qualitative research knowledge preferred)
• Demonstrated research experience in human/community nutrition and a record of scholarly productivity
• Experience developing, implementing, and/or evaluating nutrition interventions is preferred
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity for independent and collaborative work
