The successful candidate will perform research primarily within: ๐ช๐ฃ๐ฑ: Preparation and characterization of structure, composition, morphology, and optical and electrochemical properties of alloyed 2D structures. ๐ช๐ฃ๐ฒ: Investigation of photo-electro-chemical efficiency of alloys in HER/OER processes under in-operando conditions. The PhD project will center on compositional and structural analysis of alloyed 2D materials (mostly hashtag#MXenes and hashtag#MBenes) through advanced spectroscopic and microscopic techniques, including:
๐นIn-operando Raman spectroscopy
๐นFourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy
๐นX-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS)
๐นEnergy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy
๐นElectron microscopy (SEM, TEM, STEM)
A key objective will be the implementation of our 2D materials into advanced electrodes for optimized catalytic performance in hydrogen evolution (HER) and oxygen evolution (OER) reactions.
