At CHOSE, Electronic Engineering Department, Tor Vergata University of Rome we are looking for PhD candidates, with a masterβs degree obtained or to be obtained by 31/10/2025, to carry out a PhD and work in the field of photovoltaic bioelectronics (see https://lnkd.in/dchNH9uU).
The successful candidate will be working on the design, fabrication, testing and analysis of bio-hybrid optoelectronic devices based on organic polymer semiconductors that mimic the response of photoreceptor cells for developing colour-vision artificial retina models (https://lnkd.in/d8UTuepX) as well as bio-electric platforms that enable the control of proliferation rates and behaviour of cell cultures (e.g. neuroblastoma cancer lines) via light (https://lnkd.in/dGNNnyH3).
Expressions of interest are invited for those candidates only who have studied or worked in bio-electronics, as well as engineers (biomedical, electronics), physicists, material scientists, biologists, seeking to work in this exciting field of bio-electronics for the 3-year research project of a PhD programme. Experience in working with living cells, neurons, tissues, cell cultures and/or in multi electrode array (MEA) or other electrophysiological research will be beneficial.
For applicants interested in artificial retina, bioelectronics and the above please get in touch for more information, sending also a copy of your CV with a cover letter explaining the key aspects of your experience and motiviation, by end of May 2025 at the latest and well in advance of the application deadline with Prof. Thomas M. Brown, UniversitΓ di Roma βTor Vergataβ, Email: thomas.brown@uniroma2.it for more information.
