3 fully funded PhD positions in 6G THz wireless communications, available within the EU-funded Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network TeraWireless.
The positions are under the supervision of Profs. Alessio Zappone, Domenico Ciuonzo and Marco Di Renzo, and are sponsored by the Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni (CNIT, https://www.cnit.it/).
About the TeraWireless Doctoral Network (https://lnkd.in/ga6WzypR):
As we move toward 6G, future networks must deliver fiber-like performance over wireless links—enabling ultra-high data rates, ultra-low latency, and extreme reliability. TeraWireless is the first EU Industrial Doctoral Network fully focused on deterministic THz communications, aiming to bring wireless systems closer to optical speeds.
PhD students will work on cutting-edge topics, including:
- Ultra-MIMO architectures for spatial multiplexing and superdirective beamforming in low-scattering THz environments;
- Semantic and goal-oriented communication protocols;
- Energy-efficient, physics-informed machine learning methods;
- The first open-source EU simulation platform for THz networks.
Accordingly, we are recruiting for the following positions within CNIT:
[CNIT-1]: “Spectral and energy-efficient design for U-MIMO THz systems” -> position description
[CNIT-2]: “Waveform design and robust optimization for U-MIMO THz systems” -> position description
[CNIT-3]: “Rule-based ML optimization and open-access/source link-level simulator” -> position description
Each position offers a fully funded 3-year PhD, a strong interdisciplinary training environment, and mobility across European partner institutions and industry.
