2 PhD Opportunity - Sports Data Science - Fall 2027 UNC Charlotte - School of Data Science

Dr. Michael Schuckers is recruiting 1-2 PhD students to start Fall 2027 in the fully-funded PhD in Data Science program at UNC Charlotte.

Research focus with me: Player tracking and/or pose estimation data in sports.

Ideal candidate:

• Strong interest in sports

• Background in data modeling / machine learning sufficient for graduate-level data science research

Program: Our PhD in Data Science is fully funded. Program details here: https://lnkd.in/gNTs3P4P

How to express interest:
I've created a short form to collect background info, CV/resume, and a brief statement of interest. It includes a question about US citizenship / national / permanent resident status, which is needed for some funding sources.
