Looking for motivated MS/Ph.D. students to join my research group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Southern University.
The student will work on research topics related to:
• Robotics and autonomous systems
• Multi-robot coordination and deployment
• Sensor networks and optimal sensor placement
• Stochastic modeling and uncertainty-aware decision-making
• UAV/USV-based environmental monitoring and infrastructure inspection
• Machine learning-assisted optimization for real-time robotic systems
The ideal candidate should have a strong background or interest in one or more of the following areas:
• Robotics, control systems, or autonomous systems
• Optimization, probability, stochastic processes, or machine learning
• Programming in Python, MATLAB, C++, ROS/ROS2, or related tools
• UAVs, mobile robots, sensors, or field experiments
Students with backgrounds in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, computer science, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
The position will involve both theoretical research and hands-on implementation using robotic platforms, sensors, and real-world data. The student will have opportunities to work on externally funded research projects, publish papers, and collaborate with academic and industry partners.
Interested applicants should send me the following materials:
